History

Established in 1976 by Jon Holmes, Oakwood Air Conditioning is one of the UK’s longest established air conditioning and building services contractors. Oakwood today is very different from those early days. Initially selling full computer room packages, the company moved into comfort air conditioning when the computer room market subsided in the 1980’s. This was a move that led us into the air conditioning and building services contracting market we are in today.

The head office in Manchester is close to the Airport with good access to the UK motorway network and we have a Southern office in Fulham, London. These offices allow us to provide cost effective national and local coverage for both our service and installation clients.

At Oakwood the marketing of our services has always been done in an understated way. All of our clients are returning or have come to us as a result of recommendation by existing clients. A current high profile project we have completed was won when a member of the UK’s Sunday Times Rich List walked onto one of our sites and asked us to complete works to the value of £3 million on his Chelsea Square penthouse because he “liked the look of the team on site who were continually working hard and getting on with the job.”
